The Bandanna®Shade is the end of that.

It's a freestanding personal shade structure built on lightweight aluminum struts. The setup is simple: lay the ground mat, open the struts, set it down. Under 9 seconds. Takedown is the same. Your chair goes underneath — any camp or bag-style chair.

An SPF 50 rated canopy covers you overhead. The side blind handles low-angle sun — the afternoon light that gets under a standard umbrella and burns the side of your face. Ground anchors lock the mat to whatever surface you're on: sand, turf, concrete, packed dirt. All anchors are included.

The Bandanna®Shade canopy fabric is rated SPF 50, which blocks over 98% of UVB rays. Most beach umbrellas are rated UPF 30–40. Most people sitting in direct sun have nothing at all.

The side blind carries the same SPF 50 rating, adding coverage for low-angle afternoon sun — the kind that gets under a standard canopy and burns the side of your face during a long day at the beach or a double-header game.

You'll still want sunscreen. You'll need a lot less of it.

Under 9 seconds. Solo. No tools. On any surface.

  1. Lay the black ground mat flat on your surface
  2. Pick up the folded assembly
  3. Open the struts until they lock into position
  4. Set it on the mat and pull your chair underneath

Takedown is the same in reverse. Also under 9 seconds. Most people have it dialed by the second use.

On grass or turf: Three included turf anchors stake into the ground through the mat's anchor points.

On sand or beach: Fill the three included sandbags on-site in under thirty seconds. Integral straps attach to the mat's anchor points.

On hard surfaces: Weight the sandbags with sand, gravel, or gear from your bag. The mat's footprint keeps the frame stable.

The full system — canopy, side blind, all three turf anchors, all three sandbags, and the carry bag — fits in the included double-pocket carry bag.

Struts: Lightweight aluminum — strong enough to hold firm in wind, light enough that the whole system is genuinely portable. Aluminum doesn't rust, doesn't fatigue the way steel does, and holds its geometry after hundreds of open-and-close cycles.

Canopy fabric: SPF 50 rated — selected for UV resistance, breathability, and the ability to be packed and unpacked repeatedly without degrading.
